What is Barre, and do I need previous ballet experience?

It’s been described as the Strength & Conditioning of Ballet and is distinguished from other group fitness activities by its use of a ballet barre and its incorporation of movements derived by ballet.

Barre focuses on small pulsing movements with emphasis on form alignment and core engagement. The exercises target muscles that support and stabilise the body which are often neglected in everyday life! oh… and no previous ballet or dance experience is needed!

What are the benefits of Barre ?

Improvement in strength, posture / flexibility, balance , stability, endurance and muscle definition. Body Sculpting at it’s finest!

What do I need and what do I wear?

It’s normal exercise wear which is comfortable. We don’t wear trainers in Barre, we either go bare foot, or we wear socks with grips that you can get online or happy to help. A yoga mat but I do have spare and all equipment is provided
